Sake and Food

"Nihonshu wa ryori wo erabanai" - Sake doesn't get into fights with food.

The key to pairing sake and food is to find the balance between sweetness, acidity, and other flavors and is easy once you know the basics. Fortunately, this is exactly like pairing food and wine.

The Sake and Food class shows you how different styles and grades of sake can enhance food. We provide the sake, a variety of small, tapas-sized portions of food, and turn you loose to explore and play a little by tasting combinations that you create based on our guidelines and recommendations. This is a fun class with a heavy emphasis on hands-on experimentation.

Cost for this class is $70 per person and includes a variety of appetizers and sake.

Classes include all sake and class materials and generally run one and a half to two hours. The class size is limited to 15 people. Reservations will be held in the order in which we receive them.
